    Title: Mehfil with Dr. Shashank Maktedar


    Dr. Shashank Maktedar’s musical journey started at an early age in Aurangabad under Pandit Nath Neralkar. In 1991, after winning a national talent search competition organised by ITC Sangeet Research Academy, he received ta’lim in the guru-shishya parampara format from Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar over a sustained period of nine years. An ‘A’ grade All India Radio artiste, Shashank has performed widely across the country at almost all major classical music festivals. He has also toured U.S.A., U.K., France,Switzerland and other countries, winning praise and appreciation for his steadfast commitment to gharanedar gayaki.

    Shashank is endowed with the voice of a seasoned vocalist at a relatively young age. His singing is truly reflective of his guru Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar in that it is constitutive of a wide range of ornamentation principles used in khayal gayaki within an overall aesthetic approach. For this special mehfil, Shashank would present makhsoos ragas of the Gwalior, Agra and Jaipur-Atrauli gharanas, laying stress on presenting paramparik bandishes. He would be accompanied by Pandit Vinod Lele (Tabla) and Dr. Vinay Mishra (Harmonium).

    Title: Mehfil With Pandita Shubhada Paradkar Khayal


    Shubhada Paradkar's musical journey started in Baroda where she learnt from Pandit R. D. Potdar and Pandit Madhusudan Joshi of the Kirana and Agra gharanas. However, it was when she came under the tutelage of Pandit Gajananrao Joshi that her musicality received a clear direction. She has also had the good fortune of learning from Pandit Babanrao Haldankar and Vidushi Padmavati Shaligram Gokhale of the Agra and Jaipur-Atrauli  gharanas. For this special mehfil, Shubhada Tai would present a select repertoire of ragas and compositions from the Agra and Jaipur-Atrauli gharanas
